They came, they ate, they drank and we raised over $500 for God’s Love We Deliver! Thanks to everyone who made it out to Prospect Heights this past weekend for “Brooklyn’s Largest Potluck,” a fundraising event to benefit God’s Love We Deliver!
Rachel and I had a great time hanging out with our nearest and dearest while also doing some good on the rooftop of my new apartment! Once people realized it was ok to drink at 4pm it all went uphill from there. Drinks they were a plenty (especially coconut water) and many of us found our new favorite drink of Zico Pomberry Coconut Water with Grey Goose! While Rachel and I provided a darn good turkey chili, it was our guests that knocked the party out of the park with their offerings! Top picks were Maureen’s deliciously decadent chocolate fudge brownies, T.J.’s asian noodle slaw, Devin’s three meat Jambalaya, David’s dark chocolate barks paired with Champagne, Karen’s apricot scones, Diane’s black bean salsa and many many more!
Luckily the weather held up and we didn’t have to retreat to the indoor location (we did that later on for the after-party) and although it was a bit windy/chilly the group enjoyed the eats, drinks and absolutely fantastic view of Manhattan. The highlight of the event was the raffle prizes with some local businesses donating raffle items such as gift certificates (iCi restaurant and The Meatball Shop), movie tickets (LivingFreeNYC) and broadway tickets (City Eventions). Congratulations to all of our raffle winners; we hope you enjoy your prizes!
A HUGE thanks to everyone (see below) who donated something to the cause… we cannot thank you enough and honestly couldn’t have done it without you!
