Openhouse Gallery, my favorite event space for pop-ups, will host the Austria Board of Tourism from Wednesday Oct 5th to Wednesday Oct 19th from 12-9pm (10 pm on weekends) for a pop-up of all things Austrian!!! This two-week long event will feature Austrian music, food, films, art and jewelry!
Walk in and feel like you’ve stepped straight into Vienna! Re-enact the scene of Gustav Klimt’s The Kiss and visit a recreation of Austria’s famed Cafe Sacher! This event is open to the public and almost everything is free!
Also, to celebrate the end of this event there will be a Taste of Austria dinner on October 19th featuring food from Kurt Gutenbrunner (Wallse, Blaue Gans, etc) and the power duo of Edi Frauneder and Wolfgang Ban (Edi & The Wolf and Seasonal Restaurant).
Not familiar with the food of Austria? Well you will be once you attend this event as they will be serving up traditional Austrian favorites such as Sacher tort (a chocolate cake), wiener melange and grober brauner (coffees), handmade manner + zotter cookies, pumpkin seed oil and a variety of cheeses! Keep the Oktoberfest celebrations alive by visiting this awesome pop-up!
